This is my submission for the Justseeds/IVAW 'War is Trauma' Portfolio.

The ecological effect of war, outside of its impacts on human societies, is often ignored. The war in Afghanistan has devastated its forests and mountains, driving already endangered species to the absolute brink. The combination of carpet bombing, depleted uranium ordnance, hungry refugees, and the flourishing trophy trade has put impossible pressure on the populations of some of the rarest creatures in the world.
