“Farm workers are society’s canaries. Farm workers-and their children-demonstrate the effects of pesticide poisoning before anyone else…” Excerpt from speech by César Chávez, United Farm Workers of America, March 1989, Pacific Lutheran University, WA
from ufw.org:
The rampant use of pesticides by agribusiness has devastating affects on the lives of farm workers, consumers, and the environment. The lax (or non-existent) environmental protection regulations serve to maximize the profit of corporations at the expense of all forms of life.
Initially inspired by NYC subway graffiti, Chris Stain’s stencil work revolves around his inner city working class upbringing. With his work he hopes to inspire compassion and understanding for less fortunate members of society. Chist Stain is a member of Justseeds.
