"Obtain a yield" is the third of twelve Permaculture design principles outlined in this book. It is perhaps my personal favorite of these principles - a reminder to make sure that the results of our hard work are valuable towards the ends we're trying to achieve. The supporting proverb "You can't work on an empty stomach" reminds us that our rewards must sustain us in the short term as well as the long."
