Nicolas Lampert

Nicolas Lampert is a Milwaukee/Chicago based interdisciplinary artist and writer. He is primarily known for his machine animal collage series, his meatscapes series and prints and collages that focus on themes of ecology and social justice. As a curator, he co-organized the group art show Drawing Resistance - a traveling political art show that traveled throughout the US and Canada from 2001-2005. In 2008, he curated Seeing Green: Art, Ecology, and Activism in Milwaukee. He was a co-editor for Peace Signs: the Anti-War Movement Illustrated (Gustavo Gili / Edition Olms, 2004). Other writings include "Recent Struggles at Haymarket: An Embattled History of Static Monuments and Public Interventions" (Realizing the Impossible: Art Against Authority, Josh MacPhee and Erik Reuland, AK Press, 2007), and "Permission to Disrupt: REPOhistory and the Tactics of Visualizing Radical Social Movements in Public Space" (Handbook of Public Pedagogy: Education and Learning Beyond Schooling, Jennifer A.
