This print is a collaboration between Heather White and myself. Heather is my silkscreen power cohort; we traveled to Brazil together last year (see HERE) to teach silkscreen printing to educators and shorties in Brazil, on behalf of the Andy Warhol Museum, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Niterói and Museu de Arte do Espírito Santo in Vitoria. We are heading back at the end of March with Katie Kaplan, one of our former students. This trip is entirely self-financed, and we made this print to help raise funds for airfare.
This 12-layer silkscreen print is in an edition of 45 on French 100% recycled paper. The imagery is an amalgamation of words and ideas we learned in Brazil, from onca, or jaguar, to legal, or cool. This onca is giving you some winter lovin with its greeting of BEIJOS! (kisses).
