I made this graphic for the Voices From the Outside print portfolio last year. I live in a neighborhood, in Brooklyn, with high incarceration and recidivism rates. I wanted to illustrate many of the social conditions that contribute to those statistics. I also referenced images of the Attica State Penitentiary, for me, emblematic of horrendous prison conditions, state repression, and prisoner resistance.
