Olivia Horvath is primarily a printmaker and comic artist who uses the pronoun “they.” Olivia tries not to let medium take precedent over intent. They are originally from suburban New York, then Baltimore, now Providence. They are currently a member of The Dirt Palace Collective, a Providence-based art collective for women and people who identify with women's experience. You can write Olivia at PO Box 29335, Providence RI, 02909.
The piece: My print is a reflection on utopic spacemaking, the concepts of family and safety, processes of accountability (both personal and interpersonal), body transcension, loss of belonging, and processes of reconstruction. The text is a quote from Building an Abolitionist Trans and Queer Movement with Everything We’ve Got by Morgan Bassichis, Alexander Lee, Dean Spade published in the excellent compilation Captive Genders: Trans Embodiment and the Prison Industrial Complex by AK Press, with a response written by me. I encourage you to forget preciousness and to cut out and assemble the house.
