I had the same reaction. I really like the work , yet
It will be nice when humyns have moved beyond
idol worship and making reproductions of brutal authoritarians.

I felt the same confusion with the ASARO blockprints.
Some of the members of that group are involved with the PFP, a communist group, and have made some Stalin imagery. They have used the hammer and sickle which are just symbols, yet have very specific associations to me.

I guess it reinforces my thoughts about conveying ideas sans ideology can be more digestible for a greater portion of viewers.
Didactic work has its place, within protest, demonstration, marches, while its creators need to understand who its for and what it communicates.

I may be bringing up some tangential points, because I was recently discussing these themes with a friend.
