This is a print from a photopolymer plate from a papercut from a photo taken by Nicolas Lampert of Justseeds members having a consensus meeting at the start of an installation in Milwaukee, WI, in the spring of 2009. I printed it on a Vandercook 4T proof press at AS220 Community print shop in Providence, RI, with the help of folks there, for a workshop about cooperation. The subject matter was inspired by six years I spent trying to collectively run a community bike shop in Detroit, MI.
No matter where you are or what project you are working on, consensus decision making takes patience and practice, but it's well worth the effort.
